I think the title uses Smash as an adjective rather than a verb. “These are Smash Cars” vs “Let’s Smash Cars”.
You’ve been mixing in some grammar lessons lately so I just wanted to throw in my two cents.

Isn’t this like Smash Cars (R/C Cars) for the PS2, now ported over to the PS3? You know, the game that has 3 r/c cars and 10 tracks? Correct me if I’m wrong, it’s just that it has the same name and all. Maybe I’ll check this one out and sell my old copy of Smash Cars that I have on the Playstation 2..

The tricks generating Nitros thing is used in Hot Wheels Turbo racing for the n64 as well.

I am reminded of Jak X for the PS2, the fourth game in the Jak & Daxter series. It was very fun, and pretty underrated, in my opinion.
Had all of the things Mark says he’s looking for. Crazy weapons, explosions, wicked turbo, obligatory snow track and lava track etc. Filled with mindless destruction and arena battles, insane AI and even a robot driver. Right up CGR’s alley, I’d say.
Now I really want to play that game…

Although I can’t relate to that other game you mention, this reminded me of Re-Volt (for PC) as soon as I saw it.

It reminds me also of the Hot Wheels racing series. I had the PS1 version, and it reminded me of jumping the go kart.
