Hey man Im just praising a different sound. I dont hate on everything mainstream, hell i love Green Day for crying out loud. And surely you must be joking to construe my comment as me hailing them as a heaven sent band for the ages, they would have to put out alot more good music for me to consider that claim. Im not saying that all mainstream is awful, but it is admittedly saturated with some bad music, im just saying that the indie scene is a refreshing change of pace
whiny emo on the radio?
pop crap?
sure most of it is not that great but there are some gems here and there. just like a hipster hate on everything mainstream. whats wrong with liking The Airborne Toxic Event, LMFAO, Kanye West, Sea Wolf, The Maine, Enter Shikari, and Destroy The Runner, just to name a few.
the key here is variety, i love me some arcade fire as much as the next guy but you must be joking if you think they’re some heaven sent band for the ages.
In the current state of the music world where the radio is flooded with pop crap or whiny emo music Arcade Fire is such a breath of fresh. Indie is where it’s at man.
The bassist has left the band. They are recording and re-releasing some of their songs with the new bassist. I haven’t heard anything about the new album though.

They do an amazing job channeling Echo and the Bunnymen here. Brilliant song. Gets under my skin, in the best sense.
