Unfair Fight
They didn’t consider the price at all
I mean the camaro
30000$ and can go from 0 to 60 in 5.1
while the cayman s
60000$ and can go from 0 to 60 in 4.9
I have to pay double the price for just 0.2 seconds
they should take the price as major variable in the compare

to reiterate the comments that was entered before, this “competition” has a lot of seams. although given that i haven’t driven any of these, having a pdk(in essence, an automatic trans.) on a “driver’s car” is depressing.

Wow, are you shitting me? The Porsche should not have won at all. Was Motor Trend high when they conducted this test? Where was that Nissan GT-R, Genesis, Challenger, M3, IS-F, S2000, RX8??? They have a $106,00 ZR1 and a $114,000 R8 but only a handful of cars everyday people can afford. This test only proves that MotorTrend knows shit about cars.

I was also wondering why the Nissan GTR wasn’t used instead of the Z. It isn’t price because some of the other cars present are more expensive. The GTR is one of the best cars I have ever experienced. Many others agree.

no way there wasn’t any Mercedes car.. what about M5?

What about M3, M5, GT-R and a few other *milestones* in racing? You can have an M3 for the price of Cayman S and it will also seat your family.

I read this article in your magazine and was shocked to see that the miata finished 3rd even with such reasoning. other than that i agree with the other selections.

over priced vw bug
September 19th, 2009 at 6:12 pm
I cannot believe these IDIOTS tested a 135 instead of an M3 and then mention body roll. WOW!!! It had to be the fear of another victory. And where is the Genesis coupe.

no suprise it was the cayman. in my mind it was either cayman or miata. good review

What a bunch of “MARYS’” Motor Trend has on staff. Yea its no surprise the Cayman S and the R8 are at the top, but the MX-5? Please save that car for the 40 something bald guy with glasses. The ZR1 almost placed last? I guess M.T. needs drivers with the fortitude of Ron Fellows to show them how to drive. But what do you aspect from a magazine that is full of advertising fluff then real automotive journalism? Look to the British “EVO” magazine for real professional automotive journalism.
