   I have to admit, the sound on this mid 80’s video is excellent. one of the best posts from the 80’s in regards to audio. Very nice job!!

    This song is musical genius. The hook runneth deep; what a beautiful chorus! And a fantastic 80’s surrealism fits nicely…gotta love the quintessential 80’s swimming pool in the video.

    Collective Soul just released a song called Hollywood that sounds almost just like it. The first lines of each song is even the same. First word said in each is “Summer” just too similar to deny if you ask me.

    Wow the Cars did the walking on the water in a pool trick a decade before Chris Angel did. Maybee Angel saw this video and got the idea. Even has people in the water with him at the end. haha!

    Electric piano I believe. Greg Hawkes is the keyboard player. He is pretty decent IMHO.

    I heard the song on the radio and I knew that I would have the song on my turntable before long. Masterpiece. Now, if Rick could just moonwalk on top of the pool… that would be great.

    Can you not give us the very beginning of the song? I don’t know what the instrument is…. I want to say that it’s a synthesizer. The introduction is part of what makes this song so fantastic.

    In fact when this video came out a lot of the Evangelistic types said it was blasphomous with the guy walking on the water surrounded by international big shots and all.

    IMHO it was all just good natured fun. The Cars were a fun bunch of guys who made really great music and thats all.
