2008 Indy Car Championship Chicagoland Photo Finish!!!!
The closest finish in Indy Car history. Castroneves and Dixon, 1st and 2nd in points With Dixon winning the championship and Castroneves winning the race. A great close to the 2008 Indy Car season

Youre Right it Was Champ Car drivers that went to F1 After their season in the other series was over.

Andretti was in Indycar (then USAC National Championship) before he went to F1, but Andretti did OK when he got to F1

I’m from Europe so I’m not following Indy Car sooo closely… got confused (Indy, CART). There also was Mario Andretti, but he didn’t much in F1… On the other hand there was Nigel Mansell going from F1 to CART Indy in 1993 and winning it. We’ll see what USF1 can do next year… Greetings!

Montoya was in CART, but I get what you’re saying.
In all fairness to JPM though, he had an outstanding contract with Williams for sometime before he was in F1 and they decided to act upon it at that time.

Montoya…

Actually I don’t think a single driver has ever gone from the IRL to F1.
May 30th, 2009 at 3:27 am
i thought the red and white car won on the photo finish!
May 30th, 2009 at 3:27 am
wow…way to not call the end of the race.
May 30th, 2009 at 3:27 am
I’m sure he was thanking Briscoe. by tucking in behind Castroneves, he created just enough draft down the straight to push the 3 car across first.

i was at this race….i have small video on my channel…come look at it!!!
May 30th, 2009 at 3:27 am
here Helio was great. the biggest one.
May 30th, 2009 at 3:27 am
Oh and i almost forgot…Marty Reid is the worst commentator ever, my fucking dog knows more about racing than he does….I really miss Paul Page. Although old Paul does do a good job calling the NHRA drag races now on ESPN 2, i still wish he did open wheel!

Chicagoland, Texas Motor Speedway, and Indianapolis are the only exciting ovals left on the schedual now that they don’t race at Michigan International Speedway or Fontana..i guess Homestead is ok too…but the other ovals are horrible

The Problem is Most of the good drivers in indy car racing get traded for NASCAR after their best IRL Season ever. IRL is just being used as a stepping stone for NASCAR and F1. I noticed F1 is follow the leader style racing now. Nascar on occasions do have close races. Indy cars used to be the destination for racing.

Im a massive f1 fist. But have so much respect for IRL oval racing is harder then you think, you really have to have a good mind and use the art of drafting.
Indy car remind me of a era when racing used to be a true battle ground nothing like 230mph wheel to wheel to test a driver mind.
May 30th, 2009 at 3:27 am
indycar is so much better than nascar and f1. i am talking to all you losers who love nascar and or f1. When was the last time you saw a photo finish in nascar or f1NEVER!!!!!
May 30th, 2009 at 3:27 am
hes is good at making 200 left turns ina race but he isnt the best in road courses so, he wouldnt make a good F1 driver.
